Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ

Jesus [the Word] is divine from the beginning and became a man. It's in the Bible, John 1:1,14, NIV. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… . The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
Why was it necessary for Jesus to take on human nature? It's in the Bible, Hebrews 2:17, NIV. "For this reason He had to be made like His brothers in every way, in order that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in service to God, and that He might make atonement for the sins of the people."
Jesus demonstrated his humanity and divinity in resisting temptation. It's in the Bible, Hebrews 4:14-15, NIV. "Therefore, since we have a great High Priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. For we do not have a High Priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet was without sin."
Jesus demonstrated his divinity by his resurrection. It's in the Bible, Mark 16:6, TLB. "But the angel said, 'Don’t be so surprised. Aren't you looking for Jesus, the Nazarene who was crucified? He isn't here! He has come back to life! Look, that's where His body was lying."
Paul testifies to the divinity of Christ. It's in the Bible, Colossians 2:9, NIV. "For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form."
What is Jesus relation to the Father? It's in the Bible, John 10:30, NIV. "I and the Father are one."
Jesus is the Great Physician. It's in the Bible, Luke 8:47-48, TLB. "When the woman realized that Jesus knew, she began to tremble and fell to her knees before Him, and told why she had touched Him and that now she was well. 'Daughter,’ He said to her, 'your faith has healed you. Go in peace.'"
Sooner or later every man, woman and child will acknowledge that Jesus is Lord. It's in the Bible, Philippians 2:9-11, NIV. "Therefore God exalted Him to the highest place and gave Him the name that is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father."
Jesus calls people to repentance. It's in the Bible, Matthew 4:17, NIV. "From that time on Jesus began to preach, 'Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.'"
Jesus did not come to do away with the Law, but show us how it works. It's in the Bible, Matthew 5:17, NIV. "Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them."
Jesus is the only way to God. It's in the Bible, John 14:6, NIV. "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.'"
Jesus has the power over death. It's in the Bible, John 11:25, NIV. "Jesus said to her, 'I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me will live, even though he dies.'"
Jesus' work touched people's lives. It's in the Bible, Matthew 4:23, TLB. "Jesus traveled all through Galilee teaching in the Jewish synagogues, everywhere preaching the Good News about the Kingdom of Heaven. And He healed every kind of sickness and disease."
What does it take to follow Jesus? It's in the Bible, Luke 9:23, NIV. "Then He said to them all: 'If anyone would come after Me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me."
Jesus' life becomes ours. It's in the Bible, Galatians 2:20, NIV. "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."
We should try to be like Jesus. It's in the Bible, Philippians 2:5, NIV. "Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus."
You can know Jesus as your Savior. It's in the Bible, John 1:12 and I Peter 3:18, TLB. "But to all who received [Jesus], He gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust Him to save them." "He died once for the sins of all us guilty sinners although He himself was innocent of any sin at any time, that He might bring us safely home to God."
